About

We founded Net7 in April 2001.

We develop software for the web and for mobile solutions (dynamic websites and portals, distributed applications, e-learning and e-commerce platforms, apps).

Our services include IT consulting, analysis and software development, graphic and user interface design. From its inception, our ICT company has stood out because of its commitment to the use of Open Source software and our strong interest in the research domain, in particular the Semantic Web.

In 2004, in association with the University of Pisa’s Computer Science Department, we organized the first Italian Master’s in the Management of Open Source Software. In 2008 we were selected as one of the 50 most innovative SMEs in Europe by the French Presidency of the EU and we presented our work at the Research for SMEs – Innovation in Motion – conference. In 2016 Net7 was shortlisted by the European Commission for the Innovation Radar Prize 2016 and selected as one of the 16 finalists.

Over the years we have developed web and mobile solutions for dozens of private companies and Public Administrations in the following areas: Content management, E-learning, E-commerce, Social Network Management, Enterprise Resource Planning systems, Workflows, Groupware, E-government and Digital Libraries.

We have coordinated and participated in several Italian and EU-funded projects, especially in the fields of Digital Humanities and Cultural Heritage, Semantic Web and Linked Open Data.

Our team includes around 25 people who work in the two headquarters, located in Pisa and Lecce:

We have extensive experience in the analysis and design of web solutions using the most common open source technologies and PHP frameworks such as:  SymfonyDrupal, WordPress, JavaScript technologies AngularJS and Node.js, e-commerce platforms Magento and Drupal Commerce,  Moodle learning management system, MySQL, MariaDB and PostgreSQL DBMS, PostGIS for geographical data,  Apache Solr search engine, LimeSurvey for surveys, Ionic and Apache Cordova for the development of multi-platform mobile app.
